THIRSTY

"There came a woman of Samaria to draw water.  Jesus said to her, 'Give Me a drink.'" (John 4:7)

You will become thirsty today . . . and so will I.  There are many different ways that our thirst will show itself: physically, emotionally, financially, relationally, etc.  We will have needs today.  The temptation will be to attempt to quench our thirst in the way that we always have--by getting a drink of water from the well (the well being whatever we use to deaden the pain and cope).  However, Jesus points us in a different direction.  He points us to the stream of living water.  He points us to Himself.

Today, when you find yourself hurting and in need, Ask Jesus to meet you where you are.  Invite Him into your situation and allow Him the space to work.

Thirsty

THIRSTY

Are you thirsty today?  Maybe you're not thirsty for water--but you are thirsty just the same.  Perhaps you are thirsty for finances, thirsty for affirmation, thirsty for a cure, or even thirsty to hear from God.  There was a time when the Israelites were thirsty--really thirsty--the kind of desert thirsty when you have been sucking down sand for a few decades.  In response, God gave them a well, He gave them water, and He gave them a song!

"From there the Israelites traveled to Beer, which is the well where the Lord said to Moses, 'Assemble the people, and I will give them water.'  There the Israelites sang this song: 'Spring up, O well!  Yes, sing about it!  Sing of this well, which princes dug, which great leaders hollowed out with their scepters and staffs.'"  (Numbers 21:16-18)

Today is as good a day as any to start digging a well.  Close your eyes and ask God where you should start digging.  Your water is coming...
